How is DIA’s PI/PL insurance offering different to other ADI associations?

All DIA memberships automatically include £5 million of professional indemnity cover and £20 million of public liability insurance, meaning that from the moment you join DIA you are covered.
Unlike other driver trainer associations, with DIA you do not have to ‘build on your membership plan’ and sign up and pay extra for separate policies, or pay extra for policies which ultimately offer less cover.

DIA offers the highest level of cover in the driver and rider training industry, particularly comforting in an era of rising claims, and rising amount of claims. It’s also the best cover for those trainers working with larger organisational clients such as fleets, public sector bodies etc as it is normally a contractual obligation of working with such entities that the training body has over £20 million of liablity cover in place.

Cover is provided by own group policy, arranged directly for DIA and its membership. We are not reliant on purchasing small ‘blocks’ of policies from a third party and selling them on as an extra after you have already purchased membership. And as we provide this cover for thousands of trainer members each year (more than five times the number of trainers insured on our policies than the next largest ADI association in the UK) we are a significant volume client for this product and therefore have less risk in terms of assuring the renewal and continuity of this cover.

DIA is additionally approved and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and our management team have professional experience in the provision of such products and services.
