Driving places individuals in a high-alert state. External factors (e.g. congestion, time pressure, heat) and internal factors (e.g. stress, fatigue, mood) interact with personal traits and attitudes towards driving. This combination can lead to disproportionate reactions to perceived slights or errors by others.
